The city of Pune recorded its lowest temperature of the season on Tuesday, with the mercury plummeting to 12.9°C in Shivajinagar. NDA was even chillier, with a temperature of 11.6°C. As voters head to the polling booths on Wednesday, they can expect a nippy start to the day, particularly in the early morning hours when polling stations open at 7am. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the morning will be quite cold, with minimum temperatures dropping by another degree in places like Nashik, Pune, and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in interior Maharashtra .

The temperature in various parts of the city is expected to be quite low, with areas like Magarapatta experiencing a temperature of 18.8°C, while Purandar and Wadgaonsheri are expected to be at 13.6°C and 18.6°C respectively. Other areas like Indapur, Girivan, and Rajgurunagar are expected to have temperatures ranging from 13.5°C to 17.9°C. The lowest temperature is expected to be in areas like Talegaon, which is expected to be at 11.8°C, and NDA, which is expected to be at 11.1°C .

As the day progresses, the temperature is expected to rise, making it an ideal day for electoral participation. The maximum temperature is expected to hover between 30-31°C, with “mainly clear sky” conditions. The forecast for Pashan, Lohegaon, and NDA shows similar temperature patterns, with the temperature expected to be around 12-15°C in the morning. Abhijit Modak, an independent weather forecaster, recommends voting before 12noon in coastal belts, as afternoon temperatures could climb up to 33-34°C .

The India Meteorological Department’s data reveals similar predictions, with Shivajinagar expected to experience a minimum temperature of 13°C and a maximum of 31°C on Wednesday. The weather is expected to be pleasant from 12noon to 6pm, with day temperatures ranging between 29-30°C in interior Maharashtra. This will make voting comfortable throughout the afternoon .
