A man was fatally beaten after trying to settle a conflict between a couple who lived next door in the Dhanori neighbourhood of Vishrantwadi.
The incident occurred around ten o’clock on Friday night. The deceased is identified as Prashant N Shinde, a 45-year-old resident of Dhanori, Vishrantwadi. Vinod N Shinde (age 43) has filed a case at the Vishrantwadi police station against four individuals. The 33-year-old Abhay Shelar, who lives in Mula Rasta, Adarsh Nagar, Khadki, along with his friends, has been taken into custody.
The deceased Prashant Shinde and the accused Abhay Shelar are neighbours, according to the police. On Friday night, Abhay’s parents were fighting. His mother arrived at Prashant’s home asking for help and he went to resolve the dispute.
Abhay was informed about the entire incident about the neighbour interfering in their matter. Abhay, accompanied by his friends Nikhil, Abhijit, and Sumit mercilessly beat Prashant. Following this beating, Prashant was admitted to the hospital where he breathed his last. The Vishrantwadi police are conducting further investigation.
