Pune, Baramati, February 2, 2026: Ajit Pawar’s sudden departure has come as a massive shock to the Pawar family. Remembering him, his nephew and MLA Rohit Pawar also became emotional. The aircraft in which Ajit Pawar met with the accident has now been sent for investigation.
Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar died in a horrific accident while his aircraft was landing in Baramati. Even five days after the incident, it remains difficult to believe what has happened. The tragedy has deeply shaken the Pawar family, and the entire state is in shock.
Following Ajit Pawar’s death, his wife Sunetra Pawar took oath as Deputy Chief Minister. Meanwhile, the investigation into the accident has been handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID), which will now conduct a detailed probe.
Rohit Pawar Shares a Video
As part of the investigation, the crashed aircraft is also being examined and was moved today from Baramati for this purpose. Rohit Pawar shared a video of this moment and posted an extremely emotional message along with it.
In his Facebook post, Rohit Pawar wrote:
“This wreckage, which has become a symbol of bitter memories that can never be erased from our minds, is being moved from Baramati for investigation. It turned into fate itself and snatched our #Real_Hero away from us, turning countless dreams of Maharashtra into ashes. There will be an inquiry into this in the future, and we will pursue it—but will our real hero ever return?”
The Aircraft Crash That Took Ajit Pawar’s Life
On January 28, Ajit Pawar was traveling from Mumbai to Baramati in a private aircraft. Although the plane reached Baramati, it crashed while landing. After the severe accident, the aircraft caught fire. Ajit Pawar, his assistant Vidip Jadhav, two pilots—Sumit Kumar and Shambhavi Pathak—and a crew member, Pinky Mali, lost their lives in the incident.
CID to Investigate the Aircraft Accident
After the incident, police conducted a panchnama and a preliminary investigation. It was later decided to hand over the case to an independent agency. The CID is currently conducting a detailed investigation into the matter.
