Work for rock fountain at Lonkar garden to start soon, assures Nanda Lonkar

Anusaya Sadba Lonkar Garden, off Salunkhe vihar road had several natural stones which for a long period made the life of locals troublesome as they often obstructed the way of the residents.

To solve the problem, the local corporator decided to use the same stones and create a rock fountain outside which will beautify the area. In March this year, the work for creating a rock fountain was announced by former local corporator Nanda Lonkar but since the elections were postponed and the work got delayed.

Rohan Gaikwad, president, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, NIBM prabhag complained to Pune Pulse that the work for the fountain has been delayed for no reason. If the foundation laying was done six months ago why hasn’t the work started yet, he asked. “Local corporators as well as the PMC must expedite the work and provide facilities to the citizens. When Kondhwa, NIBM road, Salunkh vihar road are facing water issues, what is the water arrangement made for this fountain? PMC and local corporators must also think about such things,” he said.

When Pune Pulse spoke to former local corporator Nanda Lonkar she said , “I laid the foundation for the rock fountain early this year. But since elections got postponed and the administrator took over, several development projects have been delayed across Pune city. I am trying my best to get the work completed soon. This work is also on my to-do list.”
