Workshop on waste management held in Lonkar garden
Wanawadi: Rashtriya Swayamsevak sangh, Mahadaji Shinde Nagar had organised a workshop on Waste Garbage disposal and plastic, e-waste collection drive at Lonkar Garden, Salunkhe Vihar for housing societies and individuals.
Workshop was co-ordinated by Paryaravan Gatividhi & Society Sampark Gatividhi. The program was hosted by Dr. Rajesh Manerikar, Founder of Poornam Eco Foundation and SWaCH Home 2020 Pune winner, Anushka Kajabaje. Ex. Corporator Nanda Lonkar along with Narayan Lonkar were chief guest for the worksop.
Dr. Rajesh told, “As per law, wet garbage should be disposed at society level which is very easily possible.”
He also explained, ways of dispoal including vermi composting.” During his guidance, he also promoted for “Paryavaran Purak Ganapati Utsav”.
Anushka Kajbaje, explained how to separate wet garbage and dry garbage at our home and explained how wet garbge can be disposed and can be composted at home level only.
Nanda Lonkar told in her speech,”There are many societies doing composting at society level and PMC is giving 5% rebate on property tax to individuals and other properties too.
She also mentioned PMC gives 10% rebate on tax if society is performing any two eco friendly initiatives.”
Society chairman, secretary and representative from Sunshree Society, Ashwini Plaza, Ganga Savera, Bhatnagar Enclave, Kumar Prasanna, Ujjwal Park, Mahadev Apartment, Imperial Towers, Suncity, Graffikon Paradise attended workshop.
