A speeding dumper claims the life of a 24-year-old man; police launch investigation into the hit-and-run.  

A 24-year-old man, Kashinath Ambadas Gawandi, lost his life in a tragic accident on Tuesday morning (12th) at Babasaheb Ambedkar Chowk on the Khadki-Aundh Road in Pune. Kashinath, a resident of Wakad and a native of Valsang, Solapur district, was preparing to travel to his village for his brother’s wedding scheduled on November 26.  

The incident occurred while Kashinath was riding a two-wheeler with his friend, who is originally from Gulbarga district. As they approached Raghukul Society near Ambedkar Chowk, their vehicle was hit by a speeding dumper. Kashinath fell under the wheels of the dumper and died on the spot, while his friend was injured after being thrown off the bike.  

The dumper driver fled the scene immediately after the accident. Khadki police have registered a case against the unidentified driver and initiated an investigation.  

The sudden and tragic loss of Kashinath has left his family and friends devastated, especially as the family was preparing for his brother’s wedding. The friend, is being treated for his injuries and police are continuing their efforts to trace the driver responsible for the fatal hit-and-run.
