Pune, October 30, 2025: In a tribute to the legacy of India’s Iron Man, the Wakad Police Station in Pimpri Chinchwad is organizing a ‘Run for Unity’ or ‘Ekta Daud’ on the morning of October 31st. The event celebrates the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a key figure in India’s independence and unification.
Scheduled to commence at 6:30 AM from the Wakad Police Station, the run is themed “Ekta aur Akhandata ke Liye,” which translates to “For Unity and Integrity.” The initiative aims to bring the community together to honor Patel’s monumental efforts in uniting the diverse princely states into a single nation, India.
The Route for Unity
The ‘Ekta Daud’ will follow a designated route through the heart of Wakad, symbolizing a collective journey toward unity. Participants will start from the Wakad Police Station and proceed via Samrat Chowk, Janoba Chowk, Mauli Chowk, and Utkarsh Chowk. After taking a U-turn at Utkarsh Chowk, the run will trace its path back, concluding at the starting point, the Wakad Police Station.
This community run is expected to see participation from local residents, fitness enthusiasts, students, and members of various social organizations. The police authorities have extended a warm invitation to all citizens to join in large numbers for this noble cause.
