Ajit Pawar Death: Six Feared Dead in Accident, But Only Five Bodies Found — Close Aide Raises Five Critical Questions

The death of former Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar continues to trigger political and public debate, with Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and close aide Amol Mitkari raising serious questions about alleged inconsistencies surrounding the fatal accident.

In a social media post, Mitkari questioned why only five bodies were recovered when official reports stated that six people had died in the accident. “If six passengers lost their lives, why were only five bodies found? Where is the sixth person?” he asked, adding that passenger details are digitally recorded before take-off, making such discrepancies difficult to explain.

‘The Mind Is Not Ready to Accept His Loss’

Expressing deep personal grief, Mitkari said he is still unable to come to terms with Ajit Pawar’s death. Recalling an emotional moment at Devgiri, he mentioned seeing two empty chairs—one used by Ajit Pawar to patiently listen to the grievances of ordinary citizens, and the other symbolising his leadership.

“Seeing those chairs again brought tears to my eyes. None of us are ready to accept that Dada is no more,” Mitkari wrote.

Questions Surrounding the Final Hours

Mitkari also pointed out that Ajit Pawar reportedly had no official programmes scheduled after the afternoon on the day before the accident. He claimed that Pawar had met party workers at the same location before leaving for Baramati the following day.

“For the past three days, my mind has been filled with questions. I do not wish to politicise his death, but these doubts refuse to fade,” he said.

Key Questions Raised by Amol Mitkari

  • Why were only five bodies recovered if six people died?
  • Where is the sixth passenger?
  • Why is there a mismatch despite a digitally recorded passenger list?
  • Why was no burnt paper or document found at the accident site?
  • Why were pilots changed multiple times?

Mitkari clarified that raising questions should not be construed as spreading rumours, but as a genuine attempt to seek clarity.

Political Reactions Intensify

Following Mitkari’s post, reactions have intensified across political circles, with several leaders and citizens calling for clear answers to address public concerns. Ajit Pawar’s death has already led to major political developments, including Sunetra Pawar being sworn in as Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister.

As discussions continue, demands for transparency and detailed clarification are growing louder.
