Spiritual leader Asumal Sirumalani Harpalani, popularly known as Asaram Bapu, who is currently serving a life sentence for rape, has arrived in Pune. He is scheduled to receive diagnosis and treatment for a heart condition at an Ayurvedic hospital, where he will be accommodated in a private cottage. His admission is under strict security measures. The Rajasthan High Court has granted him a 7-day parole for Ayurvedic treatment on medical grounds.

Asaram Bapu has been experiencing heart issues recently and will receive treatment while remaining in police custody. This decision was made by a bench consisting of Justice P.S. Bhati and Justice Munnari Laxman. Despite the Pune Police expressing concerns about possible law and order disturbances if Asaram Bapu receives treatment at a local hospital, the court has permitted him to seek treatment in Pune.

Reports indicate that Asaram Bapu will be receiving treatment at Madhavbaug Clinic. At 83 years old, he has been incarcerated in Rajasthan since September 2013. His flight landed in Mumbai at 2:20 PM yesterday, after which he traveled to Pune. The conditions of his parole stipulate that he must be accompanied by four police officers, and he is allowed two attendants as well. He will be residing in a private cottage in Pune and is responsible for all expenses related to his treatment, transportation, and police security. Earlier, his requests to have his sentence stayed on health grounds were denied by both the High Court and the Supreme Court.
