G20 in Pune : Workshops on Basic Literacy and Numeracy held

Various awareness programs are being organized in the city in the background of the G20 Council Education Working Group meeting to be held in Pune next week. Under that, a one-day workshop on Basic Literacy and Numeracy teaching methods and educational tools was organized today in Kendriya Vidyalaya in Ganeshkhind. The workshop was inaugurated by Rajiv Nandkar, Deputy Commissioner of Education and Training Department of Pune Municipal Corporation. On this occasion, he expressed his belief that the stronger the foundation of the education of children between the ages of 3 and 9, the better the future of the country will be. At this time, he appealed to every teacher to be aware that parents have as much participation in the development of children.

In this day-long workshop, experts from various sessions explained how the basic education system should be. Guided about the innovative materials used for it.

Sangeeta Guten, Principal of the Central School of Military Engineering College, Pune, gave information about the various education systems of basic literacy under Nipun Bharat Abhiyan. Ganeshkhind Kendriya Vidyalaya Prof. Surekha Narake  , Prof. Khadki Kendriya Vidyalaya. Prabir Nag also gave guidance on Numerology. Sona Seth, Deputy Commissioner, Bombay Division of Kendriya Vidyalayas also gave a speech on this occasion.He guided the audience about what precautions should be taken by the professors of Kendriya Vidyalayas while teaching basic literacy and numeracy. The present parents also participated in this workshop.

Teachers , principals and parents from various Kendriya Vidyalayas of Pune attended the workshop. Apart from this, students and teachers of various schools have prepared various tools necessary for basic education and their exhibition was held on this occasion. Principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya Shabana Khan had planned this workshop.
