Gurunanak Jayanti: Pune Sadh Sangat organizes Prabhat Pheri on December 3 on NIBM Road

Pune: Pune Sadh Sangat has organized a ‘Prabhat Pheri’ on Sunday, December 3 in the NIBM area on the occasion of Dhan Dhan Shree Guru Nanak Dev’s Prakash Purab (Guru Nanak Jayanti).

As per information, the ‘Prabhat Pheri’ will begin from Ganga Florentina (NIBM Annexe) at 6 am & Cloud 9 – Sunshine Society & will reach Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Garden at NIBM Annexe Road by 8 am. It will be followed by Kirtan, Ardas and Guru Ka Langar.

Guru Nanak Jayanti is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev. The festival is celebrated on the day of Kartik Poornima, which is the fifteenth lunar day in the month of Kartik according to the Hindu calendar, and usually falls in the month of November by the Gregorian calendar. It is considered one of the most important festivals for Sikhism.

The anniversaries of the ten Sikh Gurus serve as the focal point of Sikh celebrations. The Gurus were in charge of forming the Sikhs’ beliefs. The Sikhs celebrate their birthdays, known as Gurpurab, with prayers and festivities.
