Maharashtra braces for rising temperatures as IMD issues heatwave alert. Maximum temperatures expected to be 2–4°C above normal across regions including Mumbai, Pune, Vidarbha, Marathwada, and Konkan.

The next 24 hours are set to be crucial for Maharashtra as the state prepares for a fresh heatwave spell. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), maximum temperatures across the state are gradually rising and are expected to remain 2 to 4°C above normal on February 27.

The weather department has forecast hot, dry, and partly cloudy conditions across several regions, indicating a clear transition towards summer-like weather patterns.

Konkan Region

Districts including Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg will witness clear to partly cloudy skies.

  • Mumbai Temperature:
    • Maximum: 28–30°C
    • Minimum: 23–25°C
      High humidity levels will make the heat feel more intense, causing discomfort and sultry conditions.

Western Maharashtra

Areas such as Pune, Satara, Sangli, and Kolhapur will continue to experience hot and dry weather.

  • Pune Temperature:
    • Maximum: 32–34°C
    • Minimum: 18–20°C

North Maharashtra

Regions including Nashik, Dhule, Jalgaon, and Nandurbar will see temperature fluctuations.

  • Nashik Temperature:
    • Day: 31–33°C
    • Night: 17–19°C

Marathwada

Districts like Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Beed, Latur, Nanded, Parbhani, and Dharashiv will face hot and dry conditions.

  • Minimum temperatures likely around 18–20°C

Vidarbha

Cities including Nagpur, Amravati, Akola, Washim, Yavatmal, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, and Buldhana will experience rising heat levels.

    Eastern Vidarbha is witnessing a decline in winter chill, with increasing daytime heat.
