Two college students lose their lives, one critical as police begin probe into drug use at crowded live event

Incident At Goregaon Concert Raises Serious Concerns
Mumbai witnessed a shocking incident after two college students died following a suspected drug overdose during a live music concert held at the NESCO complex in Goregaon East.

The incident took place on April 11 during a large-scale event attended by nearly 3,000 to 4,000 people. Reports suggest that excessive consumption of drugs and alcohol led to the sudden deterioration of health among several attendees.

Victims And Medical Response
Among the deceased were a male and a female student from a reputed college. They were rushed to the Hindu Hriday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray Trauma Care Hospital in Jogeshwari, where they later died during treatment.

Another student is currently undergoing treatment and is said to be in critical condition.

Police Investigation Underway
Vanrai police have registered a case and initiated an investigation. Officials are probing how drugs were accessed at the event and whether there were any lapses in security or event management.

The incident has raised serious concerns about safety measures at large public gatherings, especially those involving young attendees.

Wider Drug Concerns Surface
In a separate but related development, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) recently seized 853 grams of cocaine worth Rs 4.26 crore from the Rajdhani Express. The drugs were reportedly hidden in capsules inside shampoo bottles, and a woman has been arrested in connection with the case.

Authorities believe these incidents highlight the growing concern of drug circulation and the need for stricter monitoring and awareness, particularly among youth.
