Nashik Gears Up For Suryakiran Aerobatic Display At Gangapur Dam On January 22–23
Nashik, January 20, 2026: Final preparations are underway for the Indian Air Force air show scheduled to be held at Gangapur Dam on January 22 and 23, 2026. The two-day event, being organised jointly by the Indian Air Force and the district administration, will take place daily from 10 am to 12 noon and is drawing strong interest from residents of Nashik as well as visitors from outside the district.
District Collector Ayush Prasad said the response to the event has been encouraging, with a large number of spectators already reserving seats. He urged citizens to confirm their seating arrangements in advance to avoid last-minute inconvenience and to make the most of the rare opportunity to witness aerial displays by the Indian Air Force.

This will be the first air show of its kind to be hosted in Nashik and also marks a unique initiative for Maharashtra. Preparations have been in progress for over two weeks, with multiple district-level committees coordinating various aspects of the event. The Collector and senior officials have been conducting regular inspections at the Gangapur Dam site to ensure readiness.
The police department has finalised a comprehensive traffic management plan, while the Public Works Department has arranged seating for around 35,000 spectators per day, along with designated parking facilities. Drinking water supply and sanitation arrangements are being managed by the Zilla Parishad’s water supply and sanitation department. Senior Indian Air Force officials are also present in the city to oversee and review logistical and safety preparations.
Seating zones at the venue have been named after Indian Air Force fighter aircraft, adding to the thematic experience of the event. Invitations have been issued to dignitaries, and all related arrangements have been completed. The district administration has appealed to citizens to cooperate with the authorities and follow guidelines to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the air show.
