Pune, January 18, 2024: 100 players will represent sixteen teams at the first edition of PYC Basketball League 2024 organized by PYC Hindu Gymkhana and will be played at Basketball court from 19th to 21st January 2024.
Abhishek Tamhane, Basketball Secretary of PYC Hindu Gymkhana said that, there will be 16 teams participating which included 10 Men’s Teams, 3 Women’s and 3 kids team.
Furthermore, Abhishek Tamhane, In-charge of the Tournament said that the participants who are all club members were selected in 16 teams. The teams in the mens group included Kara Intellect Warriors, Abhis Lakers, Rathis Mavericks, Kaps Rockets, Spectrum Kings, Bulls, Wadeshwar Wizards, PYC Hawks, ATX Blazers, Posh Rapters, while in the womens group included Aces, Sparks, Mercury and in the kids group included Heat, Celtics, Knicks
.
The winning team will receive a trophy.
A Committee comprising of Organizing Secretary Abhishek Tamhane, Suvarna Limaye, Karna Mehta, Shireen Limaye was constituted for smooth conduct of Tournament.
16 teams participated in the first basketball league tournament
The competition starts today (January 19).
Pune, January 18, 2023: A total of 100 players in 16 teams participated in the first PYC Basketball League tournament organized by PYC Hindu Gymkhana. The tournament will be played from 19th to 21st January 2024 at PYC Basketball Court.
Abhishek Tamhane, secretary of the basketball department of PYC Hindu Gymkhana said that there are total 16 teams in this tournament, 10 teams in the men’s group, 3 teams in the women’s group and 2 teams in the kids’ group.
The participating teams in the competition consist of 6 players in each team and all these players are members of the club. Kara Intellect Warriors, Abhij Lakers, Rathij Mavericks, Caps Rockets, Spectrum Kings, Bulls, Wadeshwar Wizards, PYC Hawks, ATX Blazers, Posh Raptors in the men’s group, Aces, Sparks, Mercury in the women’s group and Heat, Celtics, Knicks in the kids’ group. These include Prizes like trophy will be given to the winning team of the competition.
A coordination committee has been constituted for the successful coordination of the tournament and it includes Secretary of Basketball Department Abhishek Tamhane, Suvarna Limaye, Karna Mehta, Shireen Limaye.
