In a tragic incident highlighting the intensifying heatwave in the district, a 40-year-old woman farmer from Junnar taluka reportedly died due to suspected heatstroke in Nimgaon Sava village.

The deceased has been identified as Rupali Bhau Gadge, a resident of the village’s Gavmala area. According to reports, she had been working extensively in the fields for the past two days, carrying out manual weeding work under the scorching sun.

On Monday morning around 11:30 am, she suddenly began feeling unwell. Her family rushed her to a nearby private hospital, where she received preliminary treatment. Doctors advised further evaluation at a diagnostic centre. However, while being taken for additional tests, she reportedly felt dizzy and collapsed. She was declared dead shortly thereafter.

The incident has left the local community in shock. Rupali Gadge is survived by her husband and three children.

Amid rising temperatures, authorities have urged citizens to avoid strenuous outdoor activities during peak afternoon hours, stay well-hydrated, and take necessary precautions to prevent heat-related illnesses.
