Pune: In a shocking case of domestic violence, a woman allegedly murdered her two young children and attempted to kill her husband in Swami Chincholi, Daund Taluka. The incident occurred around 5 AM on Saturday (February 8), sending shockwaves through the local community.

The accused, Komal Duryodhan Minde (32), allegedly strangled and smothered her children—Piyu (2.3 years old) and Shambhu (1.3 years old)—before attacking her husband, Duryodhan Abasaheb Minde (35), with a sharp weapon while he was asleep. 

The attack left him with severe head and neck injuries. He was rushed to a private hospital in Baramati, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

Following the crime, Daund Police arrested Komal Minde on charges of murder and attempted murder. Preliminary investigations indicate a domestic dispute as the trigger, but the exact motive is still under investigation.

Duryodhan Minde, a software engineer working for a private company in Kharadi, Pune, had been working from home at the time of the incident. Given that both spouses are well-educated, the case has left the community in shock, raising concerns about the underlying reasons for the tragedy.

The Daund Police have launched a detailed probe, led by Assistant Police Inspector Nagnath Patil, Police Sub-Inspector Dattatray Kumbhar, and Assistant Police Sub-Inspector Gorakh Malgunde. Further investigations are underway to determine the circumstances leading to the horrific crime.
