A resident of Kothrud, Pune, lost Rs 30.6 lakh in an online share trading scam between May and August 2024. The victim, lured by promises of high returns, was instructed by the fraudster to invest in various share trading schemes. Believing in the potential for large profits, the victim made multiple online transactions over several months, hoping for a significant payout.

Despite these investments, the promised returns never materialized, and the scammer eventually disappeared without returning the money. Realizing he had been deceived, the victim filed a complaint at the Alankar Police Station, detailing the fraudulent activities.

The case highlights the increasing danger of online financial scams, where victims are tricked into investing large sums of money with the promise of quick and significant returns. The police have begun investigating the incident and are working to track down the accused.

Authorities have warned citizens to exercise caution while investing online and to verify the authenticity of platforms and brokers before making financial transactions. This case serves as a reminder to be vigilant in online trading to avoid falling victim to such scams.
