Pune News : Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation takes step towards collecting e-waste

Pimpri: Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has announced an e-waste collection campaign that will be implemented across the city in the coming few days. This initiative is aimed at collecting hazardous waste from the city and ensuring it is reused, recycled, and disposed of scientifically. The announcement was made by the Municipal Commissioner, Shekhar Singh, at the inauguration of an e-waste collection van at the Bhosari e-waste center.

During his speech, Commissioner Shekhar Singh outlined the initiative and provided instructions for the proper disposal of e-waste. He also announced that a permanent e-waste collection campaign would be implemented throughout the city soon.

The PCMC Environment Department Head, Sanjay Kulkarni, said, “PCMC has already started two vans for e-waste collection, which were inaugurated at the Bhosari e-waste center. The success of the campaign will depend on citizens’ response to it”

The e-waste recycling and plastic recycling cum hobby center has also been started to ensure the proper management of hazardous waste in the city. The initiative is a significant step towards environmental protection and sustainability, and the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation is committed to ensuring its success.
