Pune: Torrent CNG Prices Increased By Rs 2/kg; Revised Rates Effective From Midnight
Pune, April 2, 2026: In a move set to impact daily commuters and transport operators, Torrent CNG prices in Pune rural areas have been increased by ₹2 per kilogram. The revised rates will come into effect from midnight of April 2, marking the start of April 3, 2026.
Following the revision, the new price of compressed natural gas Torrent (CNG) has been fixed at ₹94.50 per kg. The decision has been communicated to all operational and maintenance bases for immediate implementation across the city.
Additionally, the price of Bio-CNG has also been revised in line with the increase. The new rate for Bio-CNG will rise from ₹90 per kg to ₹92 per kg, reflecting a similar upward adjustment.
Officials from the gas supplying company stated that the updated pricing must be enforced across all distribution points without delay to ensure uniformity in rates for consumers.
The price hike is expected to have a cascading effect on transportation costs, particularly for auto-rickshaws, cab services, and commercial vehicles that rely heavily on Torrent CNG as a primary fuel.
