Pune Weather Update: IMD Forecasts 1-2 Spells of Light Rain Until June 21
Weather Update: Pune to experience thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and moderate spells of rain
The IMD predicts light rain spells and partly cloudy skies as temperatures soar, signalling potential monsoon advancement.

Pune: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted that Pune is likely to experience one or two spells of light rain until June 21.

The IMD also predicts partly cloudy skies during the evening hours. However, on Sunday, the skies remained clear throughout the day, causing temperatures to soar above 35°C in several areas.

Shirur recorded 36.4°C, Wadgaon Sheri 35.7°C, Chinchwad 35.4°C, Rajgurunagar 35.2°C, Koregaon Park 35.2°C, and Magarpatta 35°C. Observatories at Shivaji Nagar and Lohegaon recorded temperatures of 33.8°C and 33.6°C, respectively, exceeding normal by 2.9°C and 2.7°C.
Senior IMD officials noted that the clear sky conditions led to a rise in daytime temperatures by two to three degrees Celsius at various locations. However, ghat sections experienced overcast and cloudy skies in the evening.
The IMD anticipates that daytime temperatures in Pune will hover between 31-32°C throughout the upcoming week.
IMD officials also indicated favourable conditions for the southwest monsoon to advance further in the coming days.
