Wagholi: Green Sunrise Hill Group Spreads Awareness on Environment Conservation

Pune:Green Sunrise Hill Foundation has managed to achieve a rare feat of transforming a barren hill into a lush green forest at Wagholi in Pune’ informed the group while participating in an exhibition on promoting the essences of hills, awareness, ways of nature conservation and guidance held at the art gallery in presence of Deputy Conservator of Forest Rahul Patil. The exhibition was organized at BalGandharva Kala Dalan where NGOs from all across the city participated and exhibited their work on the conservation of the environment.

The theme of the exhibition was ‘Solution on Pollution in Pune.”

Sharing further the group informed that the journey of Green Sunrise Hill, Wagholi started under the guidance of Ranganath Naikade (Dy. CCF) on June 5, 2016.  A small green initiative has now become a green movement.  In just a span of 7 years,  the group has succeeded in transforming a barren hill into a lush green urban forest at Wagholi Pune.

Green Sunrise Hill now has more than 20k plants of 50+ native species thus, enriching the biodiversity of the area!!!

Various environment conservation groups participated in the event and shared their learnings and journey of converting barren lands to green forests.
