Pune Municipal Corporation is getting ready to take action against illegal encroachments and unauthorized constructions. Minister Murlidhar Mohol has directed the authorities to clear up the roads and footpaths.

Several Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders, Rajendra Bhosale, Pune municipal commissioner, and officials from the road and anti- encroachment department were present for the meeting.

There’s been a rise in encroachments on city roads and footpaths, with hawkers occupying them illegally. Minister Mohol mentioned that citizens are experiencing a lot of inconvenience because of these encroachments. It’s good to hear that the municipal commissioner will assign a dedicated officer for the drive to address these issues.

Minister Mohol emphasized that the officials should take action against unauthorized structures, even if they belong to political workers. It’s great that all political parties are backing this effort. He made it clear that if anyone tries to interfere by asking to stop the drive, the administration should not comply with those requests.

It’s concerning to hear from Hemant Rasne about the large number of illegal constructions in the central parts of the city, especially the construction of multistorey buildings. The lack of action from the administration despite repeated complaints is indeed frustrating.

It’s promising that Minister Mohol has announced a separate drive to demolish these illegal constructions. This proactive approach is essential to address the issue effectively.

Additionally, it’s good to know that during the meeting, Mohol also reviewed the progress of the 24 x7 water project, showing a comprehensive focus on improving infrastructure and services in the city.
