Pune: MSEDCL Sanctions Rs.136.50 Crore for Division of Overloaded Power Lines in Pune
Pune, September 5, 2024: To reduce the load on local power lines and substations under the Pune Circle, a plan worth ₹136.50 crore has been approved for the division of 60 overloaded high-voltage power lines. MSEDCL CMD Lokesh Chandra has directed that the work on 37 power lines in the first phase be completed as soon as possible.
During a review meeting held at Prakash Bhavan on September 4, Chandra emphasized the need to expedite the division of overloaded power lines and ensure quality power supply. He also highlighted the importance of timely bill collection, especially as MSEDCL’s operations depend on revenue from electricity bills. The ongoing scheme for waiving interest and late fees for defaulters, under which notices are being issued, was discussed, along with various power supply improvement plans for Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad.
Bhujang Khandare, Pune Regional Director, stated that technical modifications are being planned to ensure uninterrupted power supply to high-priority areas. Meanwhile, Chief Engineer Rajendra Pawar added that work orders worth ₹32.87 crore have been issued for the division of 37 power lines in Ganeshkhind and Pune Rural areas, which will benefit localities like Pimpri, Ravet, Hinjawadi, Chakan, and Bhosari.
