Around 500 young women from Jammu and Kashmir encountered a distressing ordeal while residing at a hotel in Mumbai, Maharashtra, due to serious concerns regarding safety and hygiene.

As per reports, the female guests raised concerns about the hotel’s reviews that hinted at a sex racket. Additionally, they discovered pictures of nude women on an employee’s phone.

According to the professor who was with the students, 500 students were given accommodation at the Royal Palms Hotel in Goregaon, while the remaining students were provided rooms at a hotel in SakiNaka. However, dinner arrangements were made for all the students at the Royal Palms.

The professor mentioned that the students had conducted an online search for hotel reviews. However, they became alarmed when they stumbled upon news of a prominent sex trafficking operation being exposed at the Royal Palms.

Additionally, he mentioned that the rooms were dirty, malodorous, and the bed linens were marked, causing discomfort among the students. Furthermore, they expressed their dissatisfaction with their hotel experience in Mumbai, stating that it fell short in comparison to Delhi and Ahmedabad.

As per the information provided, the hotel management’s arrangement of dinner tables for only 100 people instead of the expected 800 caused space issues for the group. This resulted in chaos during dinner service, with the lights even going off for 20-25 minutes, as reported by the publication. The professor mentioned that initially, they believed there was a power outage.

However, the students soon realized that the lights had intentionally been turned off to discreetly remove certain guests who might have been engaged in questionable behaviour. According to the report, a dispute ensued between the staff and the students. During this altercation, one of the students managed to seize the staff member’s phone, revealing explicit photographs of several women.

The IRCTC has expressed its shock over the incident and has issued a statement stating that an investigation will be conducted. The chairman of the IRCTC has assured that strict action will be taken against both the contractor and the employees involved.
