The Tata Group’s strategic move to merge Vistara with Air India combines two major players in Indian aviation, resulting in Air India becoming the country’s only full-service carrier. Vistara was established in 2015 after the Indian government permitted foreign airlines to own up to 49% of domestic airlines under the UPA administration.

First Officer Nehal expressed his mixed emotions by stating, “Today’s flight marks the final journey of Vistara. As we get ready for takeoff, we recognize the special significance this moment holds for many of us, both crew and passengers. Vistara has connected countless travelers across continents and cultures, creating memories we will cherish. It has been our mission and pleasure to serve you with dedication, safety, and reliability, and we remain committed to that high standard today. As we embark on this journey, we invite you to savor this experience with us. From our hearts to yours, thank you for your loyalty, trust, and the memories we’ve shared. A special thank you to those who have been part of this airline’s journey from the very beginning.”

After they finished their announcement, the passengers responded with cheers, and many began recording the moment. One passenger exclaimed, “Yay, superb,” as the cabin erupted in applause for the Vistara crew.
