PCMC: Avoid smoking or spitting in public areas

In the recent guidelines released by the PCMC under the mission again, the civic corporation has stressed on the need to minimise smoking and spitting openly in public areas.

PCMC has also informed that it shall impose a fine on the violators of ₹ 1000.

According to the additional information provided by the sources in PCMC, the civic body has also put some workers at various spots to keep a check on the regulation of norms precsribed by the PCMC, and also fine the violators.

The officials will keep a close eye on such violators and put them to the task. This is one of the needed actions in the time when the Covid19 cases are on the peak and the situations seems far from being controlled.

According to the D Ward Health Officer, Vinod Bendale, 5,286 people have been fined for spitting and smoking in the public areas since the orders have come into place. 8, 41, 400 ₹ fine has been collected from the violators, who have been caught by the health officials on duty.
