Pune, a significant constituency in Maharashtra, is set to cast its votes in Phase 4 of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections on May 13. The state will undergo polling in five phases, spanning from April 19 to May 20, with Pune being a crucial part of this electoral process. The voting for Lok Sabha Constituencies Pune and Shirur will be held on May 13.

In anticipation of the polling day, the Maharashtra government has announced a public holiday across all Lok Sabha constituencies, including Pune. This holiday extends to voters who may be away from their constituencies due to work commitments. Moreover, state and central government offices, along with other institutions, will remain closed to facilitate voting on polling days.

Recognizing the importance of encouraging voter participation, especially amidst concerns of decreased turnout, the Pune district election department has launched a comprehensive strategy. This strategy involves garnering support from actors in Marathi and Hindi cinema, as well as prominent industrialists and business figures. Additionally, a widespread campaign is in progress across approximately 39,000 housing societies in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporations, along with neighboring rural areas. Efforts include urging citizens to vote during the distribution of voter slip papers.

Maharashtra, boasting 48 Lok Sabha constituencies, will witness voting over five days in a five-phase election scheduled between April 19 and May 20. The polling dates for Pune and the entire state are April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, and May 20. With these initiatives in place, authorities are optimistic about ensuring robust voter engagement and a successful democratic process in Pune and across Maharashtra.
